The Role
Lead development and troubleshooting of composite manufacturing processes. This full-time position in Gloucester offers growth opportunities during the company's scale-up phase with expansion plans into Europe and the US over the next 2-3 years.
What You'll Do
Process Development:

Lead development and troubleshooting of composite manufacturing processes

Direct technical delivery of R&D projects using RTS technology
-
Support New Product Introduction handover to production
-
Provide manufacturability feedback during design reviews

Collaborate cross-functionally on material integration
Material & Design Support:
-
Analyze composite materials for application suitability
-
Develop tooling concepts for patterns, molds, and fixtures
-
Partner with vendors on manufacturing tooling standards
Quality & Compliance:
-
Ensure manufacturing documentation meets quality standards
-
Implement quality control systems aligned with customer requirements
-
Investigate product quality issues and non-conformances
Continuous Improvement:
-
Champion process optimization and cost reduction initiatives
-
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles
-
Lead problem-solving efforts
Documentation & Training:
-
Create BOMs, specifications, and inspection requirements
-
Train production teams on composite manufacturing processes
-
Provide technical support to commercial proposal teams
Requirements
-
Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (practical experience equally valued)

Proven composites manufacturing experience with process development focus

Strong understanding of composite materials, properties, and applications
-
Proficiency reading CAD files and technical drawings
-
Quality control knowledge (AS9100 desirable)

Lean Manufacturing familiarity

Problem-solving and analytical capabilities
-
Strong communication skills
-
Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
