The Role
Create trajectory optimization and real-time control algorithms for agile unmanned aerial vehicles. Develop vehicle, sensor, and environmental models for simulation and training.
What You'll Do

Create trajectory optimization and real-time control algorithms for agile unmanned aerial vehicles

Develop vehicle, sensor, and environmental models for simulation and training

Research and implement state-of-the-art advancements in control systems
-
Design interfaces connecting perception systems and ground control units
-
Integrate with PX4-based autopilots and deploy to NVIDIA platforms
-
Contribute to system architecture and product roadmap decisions
-
Mentor junior engineers and interns
Requirements
-
Required: Master's or PhD in Robotics, Control Theory, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience

Strong foundation in motion planning, numerical optimization, and control theory
-
Proven research record applying control methods to physical agile flight systems
-
Multiple years experience with PX4-based flight stacks and UAV operations
-
Demonstrated hands-on problem-solving ability with strong documentation practices
-
Collaborative team orientation
Nice to Have
-
NVIDIA Jetson platform experience
-
ROS2 proficiency
Location
Hybrid role based in Karlsruhe, Germany.
