
Oceanographer/Hydrographer Engineer - Signal Processing

About Elwave
Elwave develops next-generation detection systems based on electromagnetic "electric sense" technology for underwater robotics and defense applications.
The Role
We are seeking an Oceanographer/Hydrographer Engineer with strong data analysis and algorithmic signal processing skills for sea operations and R&D work.
What You'll Do
Sea Operations & Surveys:
-
Conduct sea operations with Elwave sensors for clients (UXO survey, mines, cable inspection)
-
Conduct internal sea operations for product development
-
Define test and qualification plans
-
Prepare material and logistics for sea tests
-
Conduct sea tests and real-time operational data analysis
-
Post-process measurement data analysis
-
Provide customer support (training, operations)
-
Write operation/test reports
Signal Processing & Analysis:
-
Multi-criteria interpretation/analysis of pool and sea measurements
-
Develop and adapt data processing methods and algorithms for real-time and post-processing solutions
-
Validate solutions against functional objectives and performance (spatial resolution, detection range)
-
Specify evolutions of Elwave sensors and detection/characterization methods
Requirements
-
Required: Master's degree in oceanography/hydrography (e.g., ENSTA Brest)
-
3-5 years of experience conducting sea surveys
-
Active contribution to signal processing algorithm development
-
Python proficiency
-
Professional English proficiency (required)
-
Ability to combine pragmatic operational approach with analytical prospective approach
