Supply Planner
Job Description
About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
As a Supply Planner, your role is crucial in optimising the flow of materials from suppliers into our operations. You function as the primary analytical link between strategic purchasing decisions and operational inventory needs. Your main mission is to ensure optimal stock availability (raw materials, components) while driving cost efficiency and minimising risks of shortages or obsolescence.
You actively collaborate with the Procurement team to integrate market insights into tangible planning actions.
Responsibilities
Operational Planning and Procurement Strategy Support
-
Demand Translation: Analyze sales forecasts and production schedules to accurately determine raw material and component requirements (MRP/DRP).
-
Supplier Ordering: Generate, send, and monitor purchase orders (POs) based on planning requirements, ensuring alignment with procurement contracts and volume agreements.
-
Inventory Optimization: Define, monitor, and adjust planning parameters (safety stock, reorder points, EOQ) in the ERP to maintain target inventory levels and reduce working capital.
Supplier Performance and Risk Management
-
OTD Monitoring: Track and report on supplier performance metrics (On Time Delivery - OTD, lead time compliance) and report on potential delivery risks to the Procurement Manager.
-
Risk Analysis: Identify and anticipate potential supply disruptions (e.g., transport delays, capacity issues) and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
-
Dispute Coordination: Serve as the planning focal point for resolving delivery and quantity discrepancies with suppliers, escalating critical issues to the Procurement Manager.
Process Improvement and Reporting
-
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain detailed analytical reports and dashboards to monitor supply performance, inventory health, and forecast accuracy.
-
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the procure-to-pay and planning processes, proposing solutions and leading small-scale improvement projects.
-
Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy of planning-related master data within the ERP system (lead times, MOQs, safety stocks).
Candidate Requirements
-
Educational Background: Master's level degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Management, or Engineering (with a focus on logistics/industrial specialisation).
-
3+ years of professional experience (including internships/apprenticeships) in a similar planning, procurement, or logistics role, demonstrating mastery of planning tools (MRP/DRP).
-
Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is essential for interacting with international suppliers and teams.
-
Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
-
Tools: In-depth knowledge of a major ERP (SAP, Oracle) and/or a dedicated planning tool (APS).
-
Rigour and Organization: Ability to manage a high volume of SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) and data.
-
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills for working cross-functionally (Procurement, Production, Logistics).
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
