About Archangel Autonomy
Archangel Autonomy develops AI technologies for law enforcement, first responders, NGOs, wildlife rangers, and military personnel. Founded in Harwell Space Campus, they create innovative UAV copilot systems that operate autonomously in challenging environments.
The Role
Join the UAV Autonomous Navigation team to integrate the autonomy copilot with various autopilots and drone platforms, enhancing navigation and decision-making features.
What You'll Do

Integrate the autonomy copilot with various autopilots and drone platforms (software, mechanical, electrical)
-
Enhance navigation and decision-making features for broader platform support
-
Support prototyping and integration onto fixed-wing and multirotor platforms for testing
Requirements
-
Required: UAV autopilot development experience (Ardupilot or PX4 preferred)
-
Companion compute solutions using MAVLink, MAVSDK, or DJI Onboard SDK
-
Strong Python and C++ proficiency in Linux environments
-
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering
-
Three years commercial software development experience
-
Eligibility and willingness to obtain UK security clearance
Nice to Have

ROS development experience
-
Computer vision-based navigation (Visual Odometry, SLAM)
-
Edge computing deployment on low-power systems
-
Simulation tools (Gazebo, Airsim, Unreal)
-
Robotic systems delivery experience
-
Aerodynamics/flight dynamics knowledge
-
UK drone pilot license
-
Open-source robotics contributions
-
~30% travel capability
