Your Role As our Senior Business Development Director for Defence, you will lead the development and execution of GomSpace's defence business strategy. You will identify opportunities in defence markets, build relationships with government and defense prime customers, develop proposals, and drive growth in this critical market segment.
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape GomSpace's role as a trusted technology partner for defence across Europe and beyond.
About the role You'll be responsible for:

Developing and executing GomSpace's defence business strategy and market approach.

Identifying and pursuing defence opportunities across customer segments.

Building and maintaining relationships with government and defence prime customers.

Leading complex, long‑cycle defence business negotiations.
-
Supporting proposal development and pursuing RFQ/RFP opportunities.
-
Working with internal teams to structure defence solutions.
-
Representing GomSpace at industry events and with strategic customers.
-
Building GomSpace's reputation and credibility in defence markets.
-
Reporting on defence business performance and strategic initiatives.
What You Bring
-
15+ years of experience in defence business development, government sales, or defence procurement.

Deep understanding of defence markets, procurement processes, and customer requirements.

Proven track record in leading large, complex business development initiatives.

Strong relationships and credibility with government and defence prime customers.

Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
-
Ability to operate at senior levels and influence stakeholders.

Business acumen and understanding of P&L and business metrics.

Proficiency in English.
Nice to have

Experience in the space or aerospace industry.

Knowledge of European defence and space programs.

Experience with Government contracts and compliance (ITAR, EAR, etc.).

Understanding of satellite systems and space applications.

Experience with strategic planning and business strategy development.
