About Orbex
Orbex is developing one of the most innovative orbital space launch vehicles in the world, focusing on sustainable space access.
The Role
Take full ownership of multiple hardware developments from concept through flight maturity, requiring technical strength, self-direction, and independent project execution across the complete product lifecycle.
What You'll Do

Own fluid hardware development (valves, regulators, fittings, bellows, piping) from concept to flight readiness
-
Execute detailed design and analysis per requirements
-
Establish and conduct developmental and qualification testing
-
Prepare documentation for major program reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, QR)
-
Manage individual project plans to meet schedules and budgets
-
Contribute to requirements definition and verification strategies
-
Develop cross-program hardware standards
-
Ensure manufacturability and quality with production teams
-
Support integration and propulsion test campaigns
Requirements
-
Mechanical Engineering degree or related field
-
Proven fluid hardware design experience (valves, actuators, regulators, fittings, piping)
-
Proficiency in mechanical CAD design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and generating manufacturing documentation
-
Analysis tool experience (SolidWorks FEA/CFD, Ansys, Fluent/CFX)
-
Hardware integration and testing experience
-
Project planning capability
Nice to Have
-
Cryogenic fluid and high-pressure system knowledge
-
Additive manufacturing exposure
-
Aerospace manufacturing and quality assurance familiarity
-
Python, EcoSim, or AmeSim modeling skills
