Product Manager
Job Description
Product Role with Maritime Expertise
We are now ready for the right person to help shape our complex product and support our advanced team.
Are you an experienced shipping professional with a keen interest in solving operational challenges through technology?
Have you worked as a shipping operator, chartering manager, or port agent and felt that the tools available to you could be much smarter?
If so, this could be the opportunity to bring your practical knowledge into a product development environment and make a real impact.
The global shipping ecosystem is still loaded with inefficiencies and environmentally unsound decisions. Our cloud-based application and optimization algorithms are changing that. Now we need someone who speaks the language of shipping and can help us continuously improve our product from a user’s point of view.
Who We Are
Seaber, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is digitally transforming the centuries-old shipping industry with intelligent, data-driven technology that helps optimize fleet schedules and reduce environmental impact.
We offer you:
- Meaningful work that makes a difference in a global industry
- Remote work and flexible hours
- A collaborative, close-knit team
- Well-being services
- Opportunities for personal growth and career development
Our remote-first culture is smooth and effective, with strong processes and a highly capable team. This is a great time to join us.
The Challenge
We’re looking for someone to be the voice of the user, guiding development and improvement of our platform based on real operational needs. You’ll translate day-to-day challenges in shipping into product ideas and work closely with our development and design teams as well as shipowner and charterer customers to bring them to life.
What You’ll Do
- Engage directly with users and customers to understand workflows, challenges, and needs
- Build feedback loops and synthesize insights into product ideas
- Prioritize improvements and new features based on business and user impact
- Contribute to defining product direction and vision with our team
- Collaborate across product, engineering, and design to deliver improvements
- Track progress and help keep product development moving smoothly
Who You Are
- Shipping background is essential — you’ve worked as an operator, shipping agent, port agent, or similar and understand the operational realities of vessel schedules, cargoes, and port calls
- Comfortable working with digital tools and communicating with tech teams
- Analytical and detail-oriented: able to break down problems and find practical solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English
- Interest or experience in digital product development is a plus, but not required
It Would Be Great If You Have
- Experience working in or with SaaS products or digital tools
- Understanding of web-based technologies and development (e.g. React, Node.js, GraphQL, Postgres, Typescript)
- Preferably based in Finland, or in the Nordic/Baltic areas
Even if you don’t tick all the boxes, if you believe your experience is relevant and you’re excited by the opportunity, we still want to hear from you.
About Seaber
