Why this role matters:

As an AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) Engineer for SAR instruments, you will own a critical part of ICEYE's satellite development process. You'll be responsible for ensuring that our SAR instrument packages are properly assembled, integrated, and rigorously tested to meet performance requirements and mission-critical objectives. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability, performance, and success of the world's most advanced SAR satellite constellation.

Role Summary

Reporting to the AIT Manager in Espoo, you will own the assembly, integration, and testing of ICEYE's SAR instrument packages. This is a permanent, hands-on role where you'll apply your technical expertise to ensure that our instruments are built to the highest standards and thoroughly tested before integration with the satellite platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the assembly and integration of SAR instrument packages according to specifications and quality standards

  • Develop and execute integration test procedures and plans

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during AIT phases

  • Document all AIT activities, test results, and deviations

  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure proper integration

  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement

  • Support mission assurance and quality objectives

  • Maintain a strong safety and compliance culture

What We Are Looking For

You will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in assembly, integration, and test (AIT) of spacecraft, instruments, or complex electronic systems

  • Strong technical knowledge of RF systems, microwave instruments, or SAR technology (or strong aptitude to learn)

  • Experience with test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes)

  • Understanding of quality standards and procedures (ISO 9001, IPC standards)

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Experience with configuration management and documentation practices

  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems or ERP systems is a plus

  • Preferably: experience in the aerospace or defense industry

  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to contributing to our mission
