Why this role matters:

As an Engineering Manager for Satellite Fleet Planning, you will lead a team responsible for optimizing the operations of ICEYE's world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation. You'll oversee the development and maintenance of satellite fleet management systems, planning tools, and processes that enable governments and allied nations to maximize the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities provided by our constellation. Your leadership will directly contribute to helping these partners detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a team focused on satellite fleet planning and optimization. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and planners

• Oversee development of satellite fleet management and planning systems

• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources

• Interface with cross-functional teams (mission operations, systems, customers)

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in fleet planning and optimization

• Represent the team in technical reviews and stakeholder meetings

• Contribute to technical documentation and system governance

• Support system integration and deployment activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering (3+ years in a leadership role)

• Proven track record of managing technical teams

• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns

• Experience with distributed systems and/or real-time systems is beneficial

• Experience with high-reliability systems (preferably space or aerospace) is beneficial

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively across teams

• Fluency in English

• Working knowledge of software security and data management practices is beneficial

• Familiarity with mission-critical systems is beneficial
