Job Description
Entangled-Photon Source Research Engineer
About Quandela
Quandela is a French deep-tech company founded in 2017 that designs photonic quantum computers and makes them available to European academic and industrial research.
We are developing the entire technology chain, from the design of photonic quantum computers, to the software bricks that accompany them — in particular Perceval, our open-source simulation library, and Merlin, our algorithm execution platform — as well as the infrastructure necessary to operate these systems in real computing environments.
As part of the EuroQCS-France program (GENCI & CEA), Quandela provides the European scientific community with photonic quantum machines connected to HPC supercomputers. In 2025, our latest generation photonic quantum computer, Lucy (12 qubits), was deployed at TGCC CEA, directly coupled to the Joliot-Curie supercomputer.
The Context
The deployment of the Lucy quantum computer at the TGCC and its connection to the Joliot-Curie supercomputer represent a major milestone. However, the quantum computing frontier is rapidly advancing, and to remain at the cutting edge, Quandela is now exploring next-generation photonic sources for quantum information processing.
This research engineer position is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge photonic quantum research while working in a well-established team environment.
