Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Lead (m/f/d) to spearhead growth initiatives in the defense sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of defense procurement processes, government contracting, and strategic sales within the defense industry.

This role is instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, building customer relationships, and supporting long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new business opportunities across the defense sector, including government tenders, international defense initiatives, and emerging market segments

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including defense ministries, armed forces, OEMs, system integrators, and government agencies

  • Lead capture planning efforts by shaping opportunities early, analyzing competitive dynamics, and developing winning strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Collaborate with the partnerships team to identify and establish strategic alliances with domestic and international industry partners in support of joint pursuits

  • Oversee and execute business development activities, with a particular focus on expanding the company's footprint in the European defense market

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture management within the defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors

  • Deep understanding of defense acquisition cycles, procurement frameworks, and regulatory environments

  • Proven track record of securing complex defense contracts and successfully navigating government procurement processes

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, based on business needs

  • Exceptional skills in communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level presentation

  • Excellent communication skills with business fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
