Business Development Lead (m/f/d)
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Lead (m/f/d) to spearhead growth initiatives in the defense sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of defense procurement processes, government contracting, and strategic sales within the defense industry.
This role is instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, building customer relationships, and supporting long-term strategic goals.
Responsibilities

Identify and assess new business opportunities across the defense sector, including government tenders, international defense initiatives, and emerging market segments

Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including defense ministries, armed forces, OEMs, system integrators, and government agencies

Lead capture planning efforts by shaping opportunities early, analyzing competitive dynamics, and developing winning strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Collaborate with the partnerships team to identify and establish strategic alliances with domestic and international industry partners in support of joint pursuits

Oversee and execute business development activities, with a particular focus on expanding the company's footprint in the European defense market
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred

5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture management within the defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors

Deep understanding of defense acquisition cycles, procurement frameworks, and regulatory environments

Proven track record of securing complex defense contracts and successfully navigating government procurement processes

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, based on business needs

Exceptional skills in communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level presentation

Excellent communication skills with business fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
