ARX Robotics is a dual-use technology company specializing in autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for defense and civilian first responder applications.
The Role
ARX Robotics seeks an engineer to design and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop test systems for unmanned ground vehicles. The role focuses on integration and validation across vehicle subsystems.
What You Will Do

Develop and operate HIL testbenches for drivetrain, steering, braking, battery/BMS, and compute systems
-
Create simulation models using tools like Simscape or CANoe
-
Author automated test cases and analyze coverage
-
Integrate physical hardware components and develop custom test interfaces
-
Collaborate across software, electrical, and mechanical teams
-
Generate reports and triage defects with detailed logs
-
Manage external testing laboratories and validation activities
-
Maintain documented configurations and ensure traceability
Requirements
-
HIL development experience with testbench hardware and fault injection
-
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent simulation tools
-
Control systems knowledge including sensors and actuators
-
Data logging and requirements-based validation skills
-
Basic software programming; CAN/Ethernet protocol familiarity
-
Team collaboration abilities in fast-paced environments
-
Fluent English communication (written and spoken)
