Job Description

You will be an integral part of the Avionics, Guidance, Navigation & Control (AGNC) department, specifically the Avionics Control Systems team, that designs, tests and integrates electronic control units for the Spectrum launch vehicle. You will be responsible for the design and testing of our electronics units, including their integration on a system level. You will own the lifecycle of the products, managing associated interfaces and ensuring delivery on time, budget and scope. Interdisciplinary tasks and fast paced R&D are your daily business, and you thrive in that kind of environment.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Take on unit level tasks for your products including design , qualification & acceptance testing, as well as integration and return analysis

  • Be the product owner of various PCBs of our electronic control units, driving requirements definition, schematic capture, layout and design verification

  • Own all interfaces of the circuit boards you own across their lifecycle, from unit to system level integration & testing, including all technical and programmatic interfaces

  • Define and develop procedures for automated end-of-line testing of your hardware

  • Perform avionics integration and check-out tasks, during vehicle build-up, testing & launch

  • Actively participate in the definition of the Avionics architecture and associated technology roadmaps.

  • Build up and maintain automated qualification & acceptance testing infrastructure

Qualification Checklist

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable

  • Excellent knowledge of circuit theory, electronics and signal processing § > 5 years of experience in design and simulation of complex printed circuit boards or equivalent knowledge

  • Extensive Experience in verification of complex circuitry, such as analog frontend verification, stability analysis or EMI testing

  • Experience in software development and automation

  • “Hands On” mentality: In addition to your office work, you enjoy getting your hands dirty in the lab, on the testrig or in the assembly hall

  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in Altium Designer

  • Experience in embedded software or digital design

  • Experience with power electronics

  • Experience with Li-Ion-Battery Systems

  • Knowledge of semiconductors and solid-state power controllers
