Senior Design Engineer, System Integration (m/f/d)
Job Description
As a senior design engineer within the system integration team, you will find yourself at the heart of product design related efforts across Isar Aerospace. You will follow hardware from its early conception to its integration into the final product, while expected to provide your expertise throughout the whole process. Furthermore, you will work closely with a passionate team as well as the rest of highly motivated colleagues across other teams/departments. You will play a crucial role in getting our orbital launch vehicle designed and built.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:

Product requirement & verification definition efforts

Hardware design and development from concept to manufacturing drawings
-
Integration of designs into global assemblies
-
Maintenance & improvement of design and production engineering processes
-
Providing general guidance for fluid hardware and secondary structures design
-
Defining and establishing design standards, best practices, and design documentation
-
Reviewing designs and manufacturing drawings
-
Preparation of detailed product development road maps and maintenance of their timelines
-
Communication with the affected stakeholders (e.g. production, assembly, other engineering departments) to ensure efficient development of products
-
Interface management
-
Preparation of design reviews, risk assessments, trade-off studies, etc.
-
Implementation and maintenance of engineering change requests.
-
Company focal point for external suppliers.

Mentoring and providing technical guidance for design challenges within the team
Required Qualifications
-
Min. bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or similar
-
8+ years of experience in hardware design and development
-
Proficiency with design engineering tools such as NX, TeamCenter, Solidworks or similar
-
Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and product data management (PDM)
-
Strong knowledge in various manufacturing methods (e.g. milling, turning, metal sheet, composite or additive manufacturing)
-
Experience with standards (e.g. DIN, EN, ISO, AN/AS, LN)
-
Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
-
Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
-
Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
-
Highly organized and proactive with high attention to detail
-
Fluent english language skills
