About RobCo
RobCo develops software-defined modular industrial robots with backing from leading VCs.
The Role
Lead mechanical development of modular industrial robots from concept through production validation.
What You'll Do
-
Direct mechanical design and development of robotic components from initial concept to series production
-
Create designs balancing functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
-
Execute prototyping, assembly, and system integration
-
Plan and conduct mechanical testing to verify performance, durability, and safety
-
Analyze test results and drive design improvements
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, and production teams
-
Prepare technical documentation for designs, specifications, and test reports
-
Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices
Requirements
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field
-
Minimum 5 years professional experience in mechanical engineering with hands-on expertise in both design and testing
-
Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred; Inventor, CATIA acceptable)
-
Proven track record designing, building, and validating complex mechanical assemblies
-
Solid understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing
-
Hands-on prototyping and assembly experience
-
Complex problem-solving abilities
-
Excellent technical communication skills
-
Fluent English; German proficiency advantageous
