The Role
Develop and deploy machine learning methods for robotic manipulation, working at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and systems engineering.
What You'll Do

Research and benchmark state-of-the-art robot learning approaches including VLA models, diffusion policies, reinforcement learning, and imitation learning
-
Adapt academic models for practical deployment on RobCo's modular robots
-
Train and fine-tune models using company datasets and simulation environments
-
Integrate learned policies with perception and control systems
-
Build scalable training and evaluation pipelines with infrastructure teams
-
Define performance metrics and create automated evaluation procedures
-
Analyze model performance and drive continuous improvements
-
Ensure safety, reliability, and real-time performance through collaboration with robotics engineers
-
Contribute to research planning and technical decisions
-
Mentor junior team members and establish ML best practices
Requirements
-
Master's degree in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
-
Hands-on experience with robot learning, reinforcement learning, or deep learning
-
Strong Python proficiency with PyTorch or JAX experience
-
Model training and evaluation experience from academic or industry backgrounds
-
Robotics familiarity or ML deployment experience
Nice to Have
-
ROS 2 knowledge
-
Scalable training tools (Ray, Anyscale)

Robotic datasets experience
