BROLIS manufactures and offers products for the defence and security applications, including state-of-the-art laser aiming pointers and illuminators, SWIR and thermal sights, surveillance systems, night vision equipment, filters and related optoelectronic devices, also heavily used in Ukraine. Our engineering team is expanding, and we are looking for a SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER who, together with our highly qualified hardware team, would develop, test, and deploy ideas into our next generation electro-optical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Leadership: Lead 3D modeling and 2D documentation for complex opto-mechanical systems, collaborating with peer specialists to ensure architectural integrity.
Design for Excellence (DFM/DFA): Partner with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost, assembly, and production without compromising quality.
Sourcing & Strategy: Drive component selection by balancing technical needs with supply chain stability and long-term availability.
Hands-on Prototyping: Personally lead the assembly of prototype series to validate design concepts and identify improvements early.
Validation & Quality: Define the rigorous testing procedures and standards to ensure design approval.
Peer Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and engage in constructive design reviews to foster a culture of shared knowledge.
Cross-Functional Sync: Act as the mechanical lead, coordinating closely with Electrical and Optical teams to hit project milestones.
What we expect
Experience: Proven background in opto-mechanical or high-complexity, small-form-factor systems.
CAD Mastery: Power user of SolidWorks within a collaborative, shared design environment.
Technical Depth: Deep understanding of modern manufacturing (CNC, molding, etc.) and materials.
Soft Skills: A proactive team player with a sharp eye for the small details that ensure project success.
Security: Clean records and ability to obtain clearance for classified information. Must provide a certificate with medical permission to possess a weapon.
