Product Designer

In today's world of constant global security challenges, innovation in defense is no luxury. After years of budget cuts, military personnel needs to train and work with inadequate and insufficient equipment. We have an opportunity to change that. At Intelic, we are a group of highly committed professionals building one of the fastest-growing start-ups based in Amsterdam. We create advanced software for unmanned systems in the defense sector. As a software company at our core, we build intelligence that gives unmanned platforms the speed, coordination and reliability that critical missions demand. Our technology ensures that decisions are made with accuracy when it matters most.

Responsibilities

As a Product Designer at Intelic, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mission autonomy platform. You will help ensure our product is not only powerful but also usable in the most demanding operational environments. Working at the intersection of user needs, technology, and business outcomes, you will drive design discovery, validate ideas with end-users, and craft intuitive workflows that empower operators in the field.

In practice, this means:

• Partnering with product managers and engineers in a truly empowered product team to discover and deliver solutions that drive measurable outcomes.

• Engaging directly with end-users to understand their pain points, needs and workflows in the field and back at operations centres.

• Driving discovery and testing with mid-fidelity prototypes and user research to reduce risk and validate assumptions.

• Collaborating with our engineers to make informed decisions about what's possible technically while maintaining the highest standards for user experience

• Iterating on the product based on feedback from both internal stakeholders and field users

Who You Are

You are a practical designer with an entrepreneurial mindset. You thrive in fast-paced environments, can navigate ambiguity, and continuously push to deliver value. You have a proven track record delivering digital products and you understand the fundamental principles of good design. You have an understanding and appreciation of how design connects to business outcomes.

Most importantly, you're not afraid to get your hands dirty and work closely with teams across different functions. You can communicate your ideas clearly and have strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. You're intellectually curious and take ownership of your work.

Ideally, you:

• Have 3-5+ years of experience in product or UX design

• Are experienced in user research and testing methodologies

• Have deep knowledge of SaaS product design

• Have experience with design tools like Figma or similar

• Are familiar with design systems and component libraries

• Have experience designing for complex problem spaces

You don't need all of these skills, but we're looking for someone with a strong foundation in product design who is excited to grow and take on new challenges.
