About the company

Fiducial is a young but fast-growing deep-tech start-up with big ambitions at the frontier of autonomy, perception, and defence. Our core expertise lies in 3D vision and graphics technologies which we deploy in a dual-use context for inspection and defence. This role will focus mainly on the defence context where we are developing software for advanced on-board UAV situational awareness in military applications. Our solutions are aimed to operate with low-cost and widely available sensors and compute. From there, we plan to develop a line-up of interconnected solutions to safeguard European safety.

Our team consists of engineers that are passionate about the technology and solutions they develop. The only time most of us are not thinking about the technology is when we are asleep, and sometimes even then. Our team members have a background in different fields such as Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Control Systems.

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Computer Graphics / GPU Engineer who is enthusiastic about graphics technology and real-time rendering. You will be working on developing GPU-accelerated software for advanced computer vision algorithms targeting defence UAVs. You have a strong foundation in GPU programming (CUDA, WebGL, Vulkan, or similar), and experience with real-time graphics, image processing, or related fields. Ideally you have practical experience building graphics applications or GPU-accelerated systems in C/C++.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement GPU-accelerated algorithms for real-time computer vision

  • Develop graphics and rendering pipelines for embedded systems

  • Optimize code for resource-constrained environments

  • Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts

  • Take the initiative to solve challenging technical problems

  • Collaborate with other engineers in a multi-disciplinary team

Skill Requirements:

Absolute must-haves:

  • Strong C++ and Python skills

  • Hands-on experience with GPU programming (CUDA, Vulkan, WebGL or similar)

  • Understanding of graphics fundamentals and rendering

  • Knowledge of computer vision concepts or image processing

  • Experience with real-time systems or embedded systems

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidance

  • Excellent English communication skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with graph optimization and GPGPU computing

  • Familiarity with UAV/robotics systems

  • Knowledge of object detection or other ML-based computer vision algorithms

  • Background in physics or mathematics

  • Experience with aerospace or defence domain

  • Experience with profiling and optimization of graphics code

What we offer:

We offer a competitive salary, stock options, and a work environment where your contributions directly impact the safety of European defence. We have a flexible working arrangement where you can work fully remote or from our office in Delft, Netherlands.

Fiducial is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
