About Pangea Propulsion
Pangea Propulsion develops advanced propulsion systems for spacecraft, emphasizing high efficiency, sustainability, and reusability. The organization recently achieved a historic milestone by testing the world's first 3D-printed Methalox Aerospike engine.
The Role
This position focuses on designing and developing turbopump components for Pangea's aerospike engine and broader rocket engine portfolio. The engineer will work on components functioning under extreme conditions using advanced manufacturing techniques, requiring leadership and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities

Design turbopump components including pumps, turbine rotors, casings, seals, and bearings

Create detailed 3D models and GD&T-compliant technical drawings using CAD (preferably Siemens NX)

Develop design justifications, specifications, and assembly procedures
-
Partner with fluid engineers to refine designs based on testing and simulation
-
Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DfM) compliance for conventional and additive manufacturing
-
Validate mechanical integrity through thermomechanical analysis
-
Enhance organizational turbomachinery design standards
Requirements
Education: BSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Experience: 5+ years in aerospace, turbomachinery, or rotating equipment mechanical design
Technical Skills:
-
Advanced 3D CAD proficiency (Siemens NX preferred)
-
PLM tools familiarity (Teamcenter preferred)
-
ISO GPS standards and production drawing generation
-
Thermomechanical loading and rotor dynamics understanding
-
DfM principles for both manufacturing approaches
-
English proficiency (Spanish/French advantageous)
Soft Skills:

Problem-solving and analytical thinking
-
Autonomy in deadline-driven environments

Strong multidisciplinary communication
