The Role

Proactively identify and secure new public funding opportunities including Horizon, ATI, APC, EIC, and national funds. Full-time, hybrid role based in the United Kingdom.

What You'll Do

Funding & Bid Management:

• Proactively identify and secure new public funding opportunities including Horizon, ATI, APC, EIC, and national funds

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive funding pipeline across UK and European landscapes

• Lead end-to-end bid processes from assessment through submission with significant autonomy

• Ensure secured funding aligns with company's strategic technology goals

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Research funding bodies and their requirements to build deep ecosystem knowledge

• Write compelling grant proposals and tender responses collaborating with technical teams

• Build relationships with funding agencies and potential consortium partners

• Manage complete bid lifecycles, coordinate resources, and meet submission deadlines

• Work with finance on project budgets and financial viability assessments

• Provide regular pipeline and bid status reports to senior leadership

Requirements

• Required: Proven track record securing public funding in technology or manufacturing sectors

• A 'hunter' mentality showing proactivity and autonomous opportunity pursuit

• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

• Strong project management skills managing multiple simultaneous bids under pressure

• Consortium building and management experience

• Generalist approach willing to engage hands-on across all bid aspects

• Entrepreneurial mindset suited for fast-paced scale-up environments

• Aerospace, defence, or space sector experience highly preferred
