Job Description
Team Central & Corporate - Business Development Reporting to Business Development Director Responsible For Place of Work Hybrid, Reading Level 5 Purpose of the Role: The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our business. This position is primarily responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while also managing and nurturing relationships with existing accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and BD background particularly within the security, safety, defence or ideally CUAS sectors. Key Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

Proactively identify and pursue new customers within target markets.

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.

Conduct market research to identify potential customers and understand their needs.
-
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through, networking, and prospecting.

Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
-
Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
-
Manage and grow relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
-
Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure ongoing engagement.
-
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.
-
Laise with all departments in order to create quotes based upon customer requirements.
-
Undertake market analysis for new product categories.
-
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
-
Attend and/or exhibit at key industry events to generate leads and enhance the company brand.

Support proposal writing contract negotiations and marketing activities.
-
Prepare and present regular reports on account status, sales metrics, and forecasts.

Maintain a deep understanding of our technology products and services.

Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.

Provide technical advice and support to customers, ensuring they fully understand the
benefits and functionalities of our solutions. Qualifications/ skills and experience:
-
Previous experience in sales and business development, preferably in the technology, security, safety, or defence sectors.

Demonstrate experience of working in small teams and agile companies
-
Experience in writing and participating in bids / tenders.
-
Proven record of proactively identifying opportunities, achieving sales targets, and driving business growth.
-
Strong technical acumen and the ability to understand and communicate complex technology solutions.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to build relationships with people at all levels including at senior and Board levels.

Demonstrate the aptitude to understand the company's technologies and services.
-
Skills and experience in creating proposals and sales presentations.
-
Proven organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to a successful outcome.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in CRM software (Ideally HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.

An understanding of Export Control, Dual Use, and Foreign Regulatory Framework is desirable.
