About Orbex
Orbex is developing one of the most innovative orbital space launch vehicles in the world, focusing on sustainable space access.
The Role
Join the Assembly Integration and Test team to design, analyze, and manufacture launch platform structures and ground support equipment for launch vehicles.
What You'll Do
-
Develop structural and mechanical components for launch vehicles and ground support equipment, including test fixtures
-
Execute computational analysis of stress, static and dynamic loading, high temperatures and vibrational impact
-
Support Launch platform structures and associated equipment development
-
Provide hands-on engineering support for prototype development and testing
-
Manage multiple concurrent work packages with shifting priorities
-
Create technical documentation ensuring compliance with requirements, safety, and regulations
Requirements
-
Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
-
Demonstrated lifecycle experience from requirements capture, concepting, detail design, design for manufacture, GD&T production and verification
-
CAD proficiency (SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or NX)
-
Knowledge of aerospace and industrial engineering materials
-
Numerical analysis tool expertise (MATLAB/Simulink)
-
Engine performance modeling experience (CEA, RPA, or Redtop)
Nice to Have
-
Hands-on liquid or hybrid propulsion system work
-
Fluid system testing and troubleshooting
-
Industry standards familiarity (MIL-HDBK-5/17, NASA specifications)
