As we move toward this next growth phase, we are looking for an HR Manager who gets energy from helping teams and people grow, who knows how to support team leads, and bring structure where it is needed most. At the moment, our HR processes are still in an early stage, which offers a unique opportunity to help define how we work as we grow.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable setting things up from scratch and who can take initiative, provide guidance, and bring clarity. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for people-related matters, working closely with the founders and wider team to build a supportive and well-organized working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and compensation & benefits

  • Support leadership and team leads in employee development and people management

  • Advise on HR strategy, employee engagement, and organizational structure

  • Ensure clear, compliant, and scalable policies and documentation

  • Analyze HR data to support business decisions

  • Act as the trusted contact for employees on HR topics, balancing advocacy for people and business constraints

  • Lead the selection and rollout of HR tools to support scalable processes

  • Oversee employment law compliance and handle key legal aspects such as drafting contracts

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in a scale-up or tech environment

  • Strong operational knowledge of contracts, onboarding, payroll, and HR compliance

  • You are both strategic and hands-on; you don't just design processes, you implement them

  • A pragmatic mindset with the ability to structure and improve people processes

  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)

  • Independent, reliable, and comfortable working with autonomy

  • Able to advise managers and support leadership with confidence

Benefits

  • A challenging position in a dynamic and growing organization

  • 25 vacation days + 8% holiday allowance

  • A flexible pension plan

  • Opportunity to grow with the company through Stock Appreciation Rights

  • Travel allowance

  • A membership at Urban Sports

  • Option to lease a bike through 'Lease a bike'

  • Opportunities for personal development and training

  • A modern office in Amsterdam-North on the NDSM wharf
