RF Engineer
Job Description
Your mission
As an RF Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Kreios Space’s electric propulsion systems for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO).
Your mission will be to support the design, simulation, assembly and testing of RF and microwave antennas used in our air-breathing plasma thrusters, helping transform advanced research into robust, flight-ready hardware.
You will work closely with propulsion, plasma physics and systems teams in a hands-on environment, contributing to laboratory testing, data analysis and design iterations.
Your profile
-
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics or a related field
-
Background in RF/microwave engineering or antennas, gained through professional experience, research or academic projects
-
Strong interest in space technologies, electric propulsion and experimental work
-
Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and interacting with hardware
-
Fluent in English
We are open to candidates at different levels of experience. The role and responsibilities can be adapted based on seniority.
Specific Knowledge
-
RF and microwave fundamentals (impedance matching, S-parameters, antennas)
-
Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (HFSS, CST, COMSOL or similar)
-
Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meters)
-
Ability to support antenna tuning, RF testing and post-processing of measurement data
-
Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB or similar)
-
Knowledge of plasma systems, EMC/EMI or space hardware is considered a plus
Interpersonal Skills
-
Curious and proactive, with a strong learning mindset
-
Methodical and detail-oriented, especially in experimental and test environments
-
Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams
-
Clear communicator, able to document and explain technical work
-
Adaptable and resilient in a fast-moving startup context
-
Positive attitude, constructive sense of humor and ability to contribute to a healthy, enjoyable work environment
Why us?
-
Work on real space hardware that will fly in orbit, not just simulations or papers
-
Be part of a fast-growing European space startup shaping the future of sustainable space operations
-
Hands-on access to labs, test campaigns and cutting-edge technology from day one
-
Join a highly collaborative, respectful and supportive team where knowledge is shared openly
-
Enjoy a great work environment that values trust, autonomy, learning and good energy at work
-
Strong technical growth path in a scaling company**,** where your work has visible impact and you actively help shape both the technology and the way we work
