The Role

Join Faculty's Defence team as a Data Scientist to design end-to-end data science approaches and build scalable algorithms for high-stakes decision-making in defense applications.

What You'll Do

• Design end-to-end data science approaches and software architecture

• Conduct technical scoping and feasibility assessments for new projects

• Build client relationships as a technical advisor

• Deliver scalable algorithms adhering to high-stakes decision-making standards

• Set technical standards for project teams (IC leadership)

• Contribute to thought leadership through teaching, speaking, or open-source work

• Travel up to 3 days weekly to Defence clients

Requirements

• Required: Professional data science or quantitative academic background with strong math/statistics foundation

• Proficient Python programmer with NumPy, Pandas, and TensorFlow/PyTorch expertise

• Solid grasp of supervised/unsupervised learning, time-series, NLP, and model validation

• Rigorous scientific and entrepreneurial mindset

• Exceptional communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences

• Project planning and delivery timeline estimation skills

• UK Security Clearance eligibility (5+ years continuous UK residence)
