The SkyBee constellation currently comprises two operational satellites capable of 30-metre native resolution thermal imagery with absolute temperature accuracy of 1.0-1.5 K. The system operates day and night, achieving a 1.5-day average revisit time globally, and is validated by ESA and the European Commission for government and defence applications. Constellr sells data access through a Constellation-as-a-Service model, enabling institutional clients to task satellites and receive processed thermal intelligence without owning infrastructure.

On the defence side, thermal signatures reveal heat patterns that expose concealed activity, submarine presence, vessel movement and infrastructure load that optical cameras simply cannot see. Constellr has positioned the SkyBee constellation as a sovereign European alternative for national security customers requiring secure, allied-controlled intelligence from space. In December 2024 it signed a multi-year contract with the German Space Agency DLR to supply thermal data to Germany's earth observation research community.

In February 2026 the company closed a €37 million Series A round, bringing total funding raised to €75 million. The capital is being used to expand the constellation, develop next-generation platforms targeting sub-5-metre resolution, and build sovereign hosting options for defence customers.
