Products & Solutions

FOSSASat
FOSSASat
FOSSA's 3U nanosatellite platform designed for low Earth orbit missions. Each satellite generates over 30W of power, carries a software-defined radio for communications, and supports multiple payload types including LoRa IoT, RF sensing (SIGINT/ELINT) and earth observation. The modular design allows missions to be tailored for connectivity, situational awareness or imaging applications.
FOSSA Nexus
FOSSA Nexus
A ruggedised IoT device and gateway that connects remote assets to FOSSA's satellite network or to cellular networks (GSM, NB-IoT). It supports a wide range of external sensors for monitoring parameters such as temperature, pressure, humidity and voltage, runs on batteries or solar power, and is built for outdoor and industrial deployments in areas without conventional network coverage.
Ground Station
Ground Station
A turnkey ground station for LEO satellite operations, starting at €200,000. The system includes UHF Yagi and S-band parabolic antennas, software-defined radio hardware, and a remote operations capability so the station can be controlled from any mission operations centre. It supports autonomous satellite tracking and is designed for operators running small satellite constellations.
SatIoT
SatIoT
FOSSA's satellite IoT connectivity service, currently in a selective beta programme. It links devices equipped with a FOSSA Nexus gateway or direct LoRa connection to the satellite constellation, routes data through ground stations, and delivers it to customers via API. The service targets businesses with assets in unconnected areas and IoT platform providers who need a satellite backhaul layer.

About

FOSSA Systems is a Madrid-based space technology company founded in July 2020 by Julián Fernández (CEO) and Vicente González (CTO). The company traces its roots to 2018, when Fernández launched a non-profit project to democratise access to space, producing FOSSASAT-1 as an open-source LoRa IoT repeater with backing from Everis Aerospace & Defense. In 2022 FOSSA became the European company to launch the most nanosatellites in a single year, putting 13 satellites under 1kg into orbit via two SpaceX Transporter missions. It has since grown to 50 employees.
