Orbint's core system is a distributed satellite network designed to detect, identify and geolocate electromagnetic signals across the radio-frequency spectrum in near real time. Signal data is processed directly on board the satellites rather than transmitted as raw data to ground stations, reducing latency and bandwidth requirements. The system is built to provide governments and security organisations with a reliable situational picture of the electromagnetic environment for strategic and security-critical decision-making.

In November 2025, Rohde & Schwarz acquired a strategic stake in Orbint, combining the instruments and monitoring expertise of the established German electronics firm with Orbint's space-based reconnaissance capabilities. The company is also part of the ESA BIC Bavaria incubator programme (2025-2026) and joined the BDI NewSpace Initiative as its 100th member in July 2025.
