About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python experience to develop the tools, services, and applications that empower mission planning, control, and analysis. You will work on systems that operators and engineers rely on daily, and your work will be integral to the success of our operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing backend services and APIs in Python

• Building tools that support mission planning and execution

• Working with databases and data pipelines

• Optimizing performance and reliability

• Collaborating with frontend engineers, operators, and other team members

• Mentoring junior engineers

About you

We are looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python

• Strong experience with web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or similar)

• Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)

• Understanding of system design and software architecture

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to haves:

• Experience with real-time systems

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)

• Experience with message queues or event-driven systems

• Understanding of defence and security requirements
