About

Avilus is a German manufacturer and certified operator of a new class of dual-use unmanned aircraft systems, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Ismaning near Munich. The company occupies a deliberate gap in the market: platforms heavier than typical tactical drones (500-1000 kg maximum take-off weight) but without the acquisition and certification overhead of fully manned aviation. It holds a Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) under EU Regulation 2019/947, making it the third company in Germany to receive this certification and enabling independent mission authorisation without per-flight approval.
