Procurement & Supply Operational Manager

MyDefence is entering a new phase of growth, placing greater demands on our operational processes, supplier performance and ability to ensure a stable supply of materials. As our organisation develops, we need a procurement function that can support increasing complexity while maintaining reliability, efficiency and strong collaboration across the business.

That is why we are looking for a Procurement & Supply Operations Manager who can lead and develop our operational procurement team, strengthen day-to-day performance and help build the processes and capabilities needed for continued growth.

The position is based on-site in Nørresundby, Denmark, within Procurement in Operations, and reports to the Director, Global Strategic Procurement. The role involves approximately 10–20 travel days per year.

What you will do

You will lead our operational procurement function, ensuring reliable material availability, strong supplier performance and effective collaboration across the organisation. An important part of your role will be developing the team, improving processes and turning strategic procurement priorities into consistent operational execution.

Lead operational procurement and supply performance

• Lead and develop the operational procurement function, ensuring clear responsibilities, priorities and ownership within the team.

• Ensure stable material availability and supplier delivery performance, with a strong focus on on-time delivery and supply continuity.

• Coordinate priorities and resolve escalations in close collaboration with Planning, Production, NPI and Strategic Procurement.

Develop people and build team capabilities

• Coach and develop operational buyers, strengthening their skills, confidence and ability to take ownership.

• Create an environment where team members make informed decisions, share knowledge and take responsibility for suppliers and processes.

• Build a capable and resilient team that can grow with the business while maintaining a positive and collaborative culture.

Improve processes, systems and performance

• Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes and workflows to support efficient and scalable operations.

• Strengthen procurement master data, ERP and MRP processes, and performance reporting to support reliable decision-making.

• Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation and digital tools, including emerging technologies such as AI, to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.

Strengthen supplier performance and procurement development

• Monitor supplier performance across delivery, quality, responsiveness and commercial performance, ensuring structured follow-up and improvements.

• Support the implementation of sourcing decisions and supplier strategies in close collaboration with Global Strategic Procurement.

• Help expand Procurement's involvement in selected indirect spend areas, strengthening supplier governance, commercial support and spend transparency.

Who we are looking for

You have a solid background in procurement, supply chain, planning or operations and understand what it takes to ensure reliable performance in a growing organisation. You combine operational understanding with the ability to lead people, improve processes and create structure in an environment where priorities can change.

We imagine that you bring:

• Relevant experience within procurement, supply chain, planning or operations.

• Experience leading teams, coaching employees and developing their capabilities.

• Experience driving process improvements and organisational development.

• A strong understanding of operational procurement processes and supplier management.

• Commercial understanding and negotiation skills.

• A strong understanding of ERP systems and how reliable data supports operational performance.

• Fluency in Danish and strong English communication skills, including the ability to conduct negotiations.

Experience from manufacturing, industrial environments or supply chain organisations would be an advantage.

As MyDefence continues to develop, the scope of Procurement will also evolve. You will have the opportunity to help shape that development, including new processes, digital solutions and a broader contribution to supplier governance and selected indirect procurement activities.
