Software Engineer

Do you enjoy developing software that needs to perform reliably in real-world production environments?

As MyDefence continues to grow our global manufacturing setup, stable and scalable production test solutions are essential. We are looking for a Software Engineer who can combine hands-on software development with a strong understanding of how software, hardware, test equipment and products work together in a production environment.

You will develop, maintain and support the software solutions used for production testing across MyDefence. At the same time, you will help us build a more structured global setup for how test software is developed, versioned, deployed, maintained and supported across manufacturing sites.

You will join our Operations organisation and work closely with colleagues across R&D, Software, Operations and Production. The position is based at our headquarters in Nørresundby, where you will play an important role in connecting product development with production and ensuring that test solutions can be implemented and supported effectively across our manufacturing setup. Limited travel may be required in connection with transfers, implementation and optimisation of test solutions.

What you will do

Your role will combine hands-on software development and troubleshooting with the continuous development of our production test setup. You will work close to daily production while also helping establish solutions and standards that can scale across products and manufacturing sites.

Production test software

• Develop, update and maintain production test software for existing and new products.

• Create reliable and user-friendly software solutions that support stable and efficient production testing.

• Diagnose and resolve software and test-equipment issues in close collaboration with Production and relevant technical specialists.

• Maintain clear technical documentation and help ensure that solutions remain stable and supportable throughout their lifecycle.

Global setup and product integration

• Help design and implement a scalable global software setup for production testing and test equipment.

• Develop and improve standards for version control, release, deployment, maintenance and support to ensure consistent and scalable production test software across manufacturing sites.

• Work closely with R&D to understand product functionality and architecture and translate this into effective production test solutions.

• Support the transfer and implementation of products and test solutions between manufacturing sites, including issue resolution and knowledge transfer.

Production support and continuous improvement

• Work close to daily production to understand operational needs and ensure reliable software performance in the manufacturing environment.

• Improve the stability, uptime, usability and maintainability of production test solutions.

• Identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities and turn them into practical, sustainable solutions.

• Contribute to a structured approach to technical support across local and international manufacturing sites.

Who we are looking for

You have a relevant technical background, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Electronics or a similar field, combined with relevant experience in software development and maintenance.

You understand that software in a production environment is not only about developing new functionality. Reliability, maintainability, troubleshooting and the interaction between software, hardware, test equipment and products are equally important. Experience with production environments, production test solutions, test documentation, validation protocols or transfers between manufacturing sites is an advantage.

• Relevant experience with software development and maintenance.

• A good understanding of product architecture and the interaction between software, hardware, test equipment and products.

• Sound knowledge of software development practices, version control, testing, release management and technical documentation.

• A structured approach to troubleshooting, maintenance and continuous improvement of production-critical software.

• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate across technical and operational functions.

• Experience with production environments, production test solutions, test documentation, validation protocols or transfers between manufacturing sites is an advantage.
