About

At Neurobus, we develop intelligent vision systems powered by neuromorphic technologies to enable ultra-energy-efficient embedded intelligence, allowing autonomous systems to perceive, navigate, and respond in real time across drones, defense, and space.

Job Description

About the role

Neurobus is developing cutting-edge vision solutions and systems, leveraging neuromorphic technologies to enhance the intelligence and efficiency of embedded devices and robots in the Defense and Space sectors. A key challenge is creating lightweight and reliable state estimation and control pipelines that exploit the unique properties of our vision and computing payloads to maximize application performances.

We are seeking a passionate and talented GNC Engineer to join our growing engineering team and play a key role in designing and developing innovative control systems. You'll be at the forefront of developing robust and efficient solutions for real-world robotic applications.

What you will do

As a GNC Engineer at Neurobus, you will:

  • Design & Develop: Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of state estimation and control processing chains, aligning with product and technical requirements.

  • Problem Solve: Identify and resolve complex robotic state estimation and control systems challenges.

  • Innovate & Improve: Explore and implement strategies for improving state estimation and control pipelines' reliability, efficiency, and robustness.

  • Research & Learn: Stay up-to-date with advancements in embodied artificial intelligence and neuromorphic control, contributing to Neurobus's position at the forefront of innovation.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with computer vision, systems engineering, and product colleagues to clarify requirements, advise on technical constraints, and contribute to system architecture decisions.

  • Validate & Optimize: Participate in validating and optimizing developed systems through testing and analysis in real-world environments.

  • Share Knowledge: Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentorship within the engineering team.

  • Shape the Future: Contribute to the engineering team's growth through participation in recruitment and mentorship of junior colleagues.

Preferred Experience

Main requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in Robotics, GNC, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in robotics or related fields.

  • Solid understanding of state estimation and control algorithms, including Kalman filtering, nonlinear optimization and sensor fusion.

  • Excellent C++ development skills, with Python used for simulation, experimentation and tooling.

  • Experience analysing flight logs, debugging complex robotic systems and improving system reliability through experimentation.

  • Familiarity with the state-of-the-art in robotics and GNC.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Fluency in English.

We're especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Prior experience in the robotics industry

  • Autonomous UAVs, VTOL aircraft or other aerial robotic systems

  • PX4, ArduPilot or custom flight-control software

  • Multi-sensor fusion using cameras, IMUs, GNSS, radar or event cameras

  • Reinforcement Learning based control strategies

  • Real-time operating systems and safety-critical software
