Job Description

Within a machining workshop experiencing strong growth and continuous development, you will work in a dynamic environment combining rapid prototyping for the design office, design iterations, and production ramp-up. You will be involved in manufacturing technical, often complex parts, contributing to process optimization and continuous improvement of industrial performance. This position requires versatility, precision, and adaptability in a demanding and innovative environment.

Tasks & missions

  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings in order to produce mechanical parts, including complex components. (Datum identification, stock-to-part dimensions, dimensional transfers)

  • Develop machining process sheets and create CAM programs using SIEMENS NX software for CNC machining of metal and plastic parts.

  • Verify CAM programs to ensure drawing specifications are fully met.

  • Perform tests to confirm CAM programs run correctly on the machine before production launch.

  • Identify and procure the required cutting tools.

  • Monitor technological developments in the machining field.

  • Design, manufacture, and fine-tune machining fixtures and tooling (setups, clamping devices) in compliance with isostatic location principles.

  • Prepare, set up, and fine-tune machines before production start.

  • Launch production and monitor machining operations through in-process / on-machine inspections.

  • Optimize machining parameters to improve quality, lead times, and productivity.

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and geometrical inspections to ensure compliance of produced parts.

  • Participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) with the Quality Control department.

  • Carry out first-level maintenance of machines and equipment.

  • Contribute to the development of new products in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and the Design Office during design reviews / modifications.

  • Propose technical improvements and manufacturing process optimizations.

  • Communicate instructions and share technical know-how within the team.

  • Report any anomalies and ensure compliance with safety instructions and quality procedures.

  • Prepare and monitor manufacturing and inspection documentation.

Preferred experience & skills

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in reading complex technical drawings

  • Proficiency in CNC machine programming; experience with HAAS and DMG machines preferred

  • Experience with CAM software, ideally SIEMENS NX

  • Strong knowledge of turning, milling, and 5-axis milling processes

  • Ability to set up and operate CNC machines independently

  • Knowledge of machining materials

  • Experience working on one-off parts or very small production runs

Education and experience:

  • Vocational diploma in machining technology, or a DUT/BTS degree, or equivalent qualification

  • Proven experience in machining
