Job Description
STARK is a European defence technology company building the next generation of unmanned systems. Determinism, hardware-level security, and sub-millisecond reaction times are the backbone of our airborne computing architecture.
Your Mission
You own the electrical subsystem architecture of the Gambit platform — from high-voltage propulsion distribution down to precision sensor power rails and flight computer avionics. You aren't just designing a circuit board; you are building the nervous system and power backbone that keeps an aircraft stable and responsive under extreme flight loads and environmental stress.
Responsibilities
-
Architect power distribution boards (PDB), avionics motherboards, sensor interface cards, and payload power supplies.
-
Design multi-layer, high-density PCBs adhering to strict mass, thermal, and IPC-2221/IPC-A-610 standards.
-
Own component selection, derating calculations, and power tree efficiency optimizations.
-
Lead electrical integration, EMC/EMI shielding strategy, and ground-loop elimination across high-current powertrain and sensitive RF avionics.
-
Define and document electrical ICDs interfacing powertrain, compute, datalink, and payload.
-
Mentor junior and mid-level electrical engineers through design reviews and lab bring-up.
Required Skills
-
5–8 years of experience in hardware development, electronics design, and PCB layout for aerospace, robotics, or automotive applications.
-
Proven track record bringing complex electromechanical systems through schematic, layout, fabrication, and flight qualification.
-
Advanced proficiency in ECAD tools (Altium Designer / KiCad).
-
Deep knowledge of switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), battery management, reverse-polarity protection, high-current switching, and transient suppression.
-
Strong practical experience with lab equipment (high-speed oscilloscopes, electronic loads, thermal cameras).
-
Professional working proficiency in English.
-
Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations).
