Job Description
Your Mission
You own the aircraft's electrical subsystem architecture—from high-voltage propulsion distribution down to precision sensor power rails and flight computer avionics. You aren't just designing a circuit board; you are building the nervous system and power backbone that keeps an aircraft stable and responsive under extreme flight loads and environmental stress.
Responsibilities
-
Power Architecture Ownership: Own the aircraft's electrical subsystem architecture, high-current power distribution board (PDB) design, and avionics component selection.
-
Laboratory Bring-Up & Signal Integrity: Lead laboratory board bring-up, resolve complex signal integrity anomalies, and harden circuits against electromagnetic interference (EMI) from high-power switching ESCs.
-
Schematic & Multi-Layer PCB Design: Architect multi-layer, high-density PCBs adhering to strict mass, thermal, and IPC-2221/IPC-A-610 standards.
-
Derating & Component Lifecycles: Own component selection, worst-case circuit analysis, thermal derating calculations, and power tree efficiency optimizations.
-
Electrical ICDs: Define and document electrical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) interfacing powertrain, compute, datalink, and payload.
-
Technical Mentorship: Mentor hardware team members and establish IPC design guidelines across all developmental circuit boards.
Required Skills
-
5–8 years of experience in hardware development, electronics design, and PCB layout for aerospace, robotics, or automotive applications.
-
Proven track record bringing complex electromechanical systems through schematic, layout, fabrication, and flight qualification.
-
Advanced proficiency in ECAD tools (Altium Designer / KiCad).
-
Deep knowledge of switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), battery management systems, reverse-polarity protection, high-current switching, and transient suppression.
-
Strong practical experience with lab equipment (high-speed oscilloscopes, electronic loads, thermal cameras).
-
Professional working proficiency in English; NATO citizen.
