About the position

Origin Robotics develops and manufactures advanced autonomous systems for defence applications. As we grow, we are looking for a Quality Engineer who will ensure quality from supplier deliveries and assure final product release to customers meets requirements.

This is not an inspection-focused role. We are looking for an engineer who can solve problems, drive improvements, increase efficiency and build robust quality systems that support rapid company growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage supplier quality activities, including supplier qualification, incoming quality performance, non-conformities, audits, and corrective actions.

  • Lead investigations of customer claims and returned products, driving effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Develop and improve incoming and outgoing quality assurance processes to ensure products consistently meet quality and performance requirements.

  • Monitor quality performance, analyse trends, identify risks, and implement preventive actions to improve product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to eliminate recurring quality issues and strengthen operational excellence.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, or Process Quality within a production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and structured problem-solving techniques.

  • Experience managing supplier quality issues, customer complaints, corrective actions, and cross-functional improvement projects.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance systems, inspection and testing methods, and quality performance metrics.

  • Proactive, analytical, and hands-on professional capable of working independently and driving improvements in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
