Position Overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious 4th year HBO/WO student in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, robotics, or industrial design engineering to join our R&D team in Rotterdam. In this internship, you’ll work closely with our lead engineer and robotics engineer on the design and development of a new humanoid robotic hand as well as on prototyping design iterations of our cutting-edge haptic gloves. About the internship At SenseGlove, we build advanced haptic gloves that bring touch to virtual and robotic worlds. Our technology is used globally for VR training, research, and tele-operation of robots. We are now taking the next step: developing a novel humanoid robotic hand.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to hardware prototyping of robotic hand and haptic glove mechanisms

  • Support mechatronics prototyping, integrating sensors, actuators and mechanics

  • Testing and evaluating prototypes and translating your findings into actionable proposals and design changes

Who We’re Looking For

  • Currently in at least the 4th year of a HBO or WO degree

  • Studying mechatronics, mechanical engineering, industrial design engineering, robotics or a similar field

  • Motivated to work on real hardware and excited by robotics challenges

  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a multidisciplinary team

  • Comfortable working with hardware prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, soldering, screwing, drilling, etc.

  • Available from August 2026
