The Role

Join the core team as a hands-on senior developer focused on advancing the Edge AI platform. The role emphasizes product development, collaboration with ML engineers, and ownership of significant code portions. Hybrid role with offices in Uppsala, Stockholm, and Göteborg, with Uppsala as home base.

What You'll Do

• Drive the roadmap of the Scaleout Edge platform forward through close collaboration with development and ML teams

• Take substantial ownership of backend functionality, core security features, and test-deployment automation

• Contribute to R&D efforts, particularly developing toolkits and workflows for machine learning use-cases

• Balance technical excellence with business outcomes delivery

Requirements

• Required: 5+ years in software engineering focused on backend systems, distributed architectures, or platform development

• Production-grade proficiency in Python and C++

• Expertise in distributed systems (APIs, messaging, consensus, state management)

• Strong grounding in API design (REST, gRPC) and data serialization formats (JSON, protobuf)

• Advanced degree in computer science or related field

• Eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance

• Authorized to work in Sweden

Nice to Have

• Edge computing, federated learning, or distributed ML orchestration experience

• Robotics, drones, or autonomous systems background

• Security/compliance knowledge (NIS2)

• DevOps/SRE principles familiarity

• Defence sector experience
