Scaleout Systems

Its core product, Scaleout Edge, is a production-ready platform that handles model training, versioning, fleet management and observability across thousands of devices simultaneously. The platform ships with modular capability packs for specific use cases: a Tactical Edge toolkit for unmanned vehicles with offline caching and swarm coordination, a Perception module for distributed computer vision on surveillance and sensor networks, an ASR module for federated fine-tuning of speech models on local data, and an Adversarial Modeling toolkit that tests whether federated models leak private data through gradient or membership inference attacks.

The company was selected for NATO's DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) 2025 cohort with its FEDAIR project, which applies federated learning to keep AI models updated on drones and field devices in denied or contested environments. Scaleout also maintains FEDn, an open-source federated learning framework, and has a strategic partnership with Akkodis to combine rugged industrial hardware with federated learning for defence, energy and transport applications.

The team includes seven PhDs and two Associate Professors, with backgrounds spanning Google, Saab and Oracle. The company raised a 35 MSEK round in February 2025 led by Fairpoint Capital and Navigare Ventures.
