CRFS was founded in 2007 with a mission to provide the best actionable RF intelligence across the widest possible frequency range in any environment. Our software defined radios and solutions are used worldwide by the military, government agencies, system integrators and national spectrum regulators to capture, detect and geolocate signals they care about, enabling real-time intelligence and spectrum supremacy.

Job Description

This role requires you to be onsite in Cambourne 3 days per week.

We are looking for a technical copywriter to help transform technical and operational information into clear, B2B value propositions and communications.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys storytelling and sophisticated technology, and turning structured briefs and conversations into elevators, concepts and short content across multiple formats.

You must be intellectually curious, comfortable working with technical subject matter, and able to quickly absorb and accurately communicate complex information in a hierarchy making it compelling and concise.

You will work closely with stakeholders from product management, engineering, sales, marketing and operations as well as senior leadership to produce content related to RF technology and defence systems for UK and NATO allies.

This is primarily a concept, creative conception, writing and editorial role—supporting the VP Marketing and the Marketing Engagement Director. You will also review and support a network of international writers and contributors writing about everything from air defense to border security monitoring, drone detection, unmanned system capability, signal capture, AI and ML

Basic Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Quality B2B Content Production: Produce high-quality written B2B content at pace from both written and oral briefs.

  • Technical Translation: Convert complex technical and operational information into clear, audience-appropriate communications.

  • Content Generation and Editing: Write, edit, and refine a diverse range of formats, including presentations, website copy, short how-to articles and knowledge base pieces, executive summaries and internal reports, email campaigns, briefing and sales enablement documents, product messaging and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) content, event and campaign support collateral

  • SME Interviewing: Interview internal and external subject matter experts to extract critical, relevant information.

  • Editorial Refinement: Significantly improve the clarity, structure, readability, and flow of complex technical materials.

  • Audience Adaptation: Adapt tone, style, and messaging hierarchy for distinct target audiences, including senior military leadership, military and non-military operators, program managers and technical buyers, commercial managers, platform, and economic buyers, procurement and compliance teams

  • Brand Consistency: Maintain meticulous consistency across all global messaging and written outputs.

  • Information Synthesis: Translate rough notes, transcripts, raw presentations, and unstructured discussions into polished, succinct copy.

  • Value-Driven Content: Ensure all finalized content is technically accurate, engaging, and strongly benefit-led.

What We Are Looking For

  • Exceptional Writing and Creative Conception: Proven ability to craft compelling copy and develop creative communication concepts.

  • Concise Short-Form Editing: Strong editing skills with a focus on punchy, high-impact short-form content.

  • Technical Agility: Superb ability to absorb highly complex technical information quickly and simplify it without losing accuracy.

  • Commercial and Listening Intelligence: Strong listening skills combined with sharp commercial intelligence to extract the critical business value from conversations.

  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for precision, accuracy, and detail.

  • Ambiguity Management: Comfortably working and delivering results from incomplete or evolving information.

  • SME Interviewing: Experience researching and confidently interviewing technical subject matter experts.

  • Professional Communication: A highly polished, professional, and clear communication style.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in a specialized writing or editorial role.

  • Background: An advertising, content marketing, or technical journalism background.

  • Fast-Paced Collaboration: A proven track record of working collaboratively at a fast pace.

  • Industry Domain Exposure: Prior experience working within software capability delivery, defense technology, or advanced engineering environments is highly advantageous.

Please Note: This role is strictly focused on structured copy, complex concepts, and deep B2B storytelling. It is not focused on B2C, B2B2C, or social media content creation.

Working Structure and Team Environment

  • Hybrid Working Policy: This is a hybrid role requiring a mandatory minimum of three days per week in the office (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).

  • Department Structure: You will be joining a collaborative, growing department of seven professionals where virtually all creative and communication work is handled entirely in-house.
