Send your CV to [email protected] with the job title of the role you are applying for in the subject line

Location: Dallas USA, Hamburg Germany, Paris France, London UK - with potential for lots of travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive

Equity: Benchmarked

Travel: Frequent - expect roughly 30โ€“50% of your time embedded at factory sites

Isembard is the software-first manufacturer for critical industries. We manufacture high-precision products for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, enabled by our proprietary software, MasonOS. Our franchise business model enables us to scale factories faster and more efficiently than traditional businesses.

Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.

Our values:

If not now, when

Follow the five maxims

Humour and humility

We are looking for an engineer who lives where MasonOS meets the shop floor.

Our franchise model scales factories faster than any traditional business - but every new site adds training, adoption, and support load, while engineering capacity stays flat. This role bends that curve: you embed with factories and franchisees, own their success with MasonOS end to end, ship production code, apply AI to their workflows, and build the playbooks and tooling that make each new site cheaper to succeed than the last.

This is not a support role. It is a build role, deployed forward.

Embed with Isembard factories and franchisees across the UK, Europe, and the USA

Own onboarding, training, adoption, and day-to-day success with MasonOS

Build genuine trust and understanding with machinists, engineers, and franchise operators

Take frontline support - as the input, not the job

Turn every repeated question into a system: playbooks, training material, self-serve tooling

Be measured on the support burden going down - not on tickets closed

Put agentic workflows into real operational flows: reporting, supplier follow-ups, order status updates

If a human does something repetitive three times, automate it - then extend it across the network

Prototype with anything; state lives in Mason. No parallel systems of record. Every prototype carries a decision date: absorbed into the product, or killed

Resolve urgent user requests and small fixes directly in MasonOS, through the same PR review as every other engineer

Turn larger patterns into clear, written demand signals for the roadmap - catch user needs before sites build disconnected shadow tools

3 months: You know our sites and users personally. You have shipped your first fixes to production. You have built an automation improving a single sites output.

6 months: Support volume per user is measurably falling. At least two manual workflows are automated with AI. Franchisees ask for you by name.

12 months: New sites onboard onto MasonOS with minimal technical involvement. Your playbook scales without you. Strategic direction of product is being shaped by the recommendations and solutions you make.

Ability to ship production code with minimal supervision; full-stack fluency across backend, frontend, and integrations

Hands-on experience applying LLMs to real workflows (agents, tool use, automation)

Outstanding written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Strong ownership and judgment; comfort operating in ambiguity without a ticket queue or playbook

Ability to travel frequently, including extended site deployments

Forward deployed or deployment engineering experience

Full-stack generalist

Manufacturing, CNC, aerospace, or defence exposure; MES, ERP systems

You are user-obsessed: Your energy comes from outcomes on the shop floor, not elegance in the codebase - and machinists can tell when you don't want to be there.

You want to build: Fix a problem once, see it occur again, build a solution that takes you out the equation. Never have to solve that problem again.

You have urgency and humility: You move quickly, follow through, and learn from operators, franchisees, and engineers alike.

Ownership: Define a new function at Isembard rather than fill a seat

Mission: Your work shows up on real shop floors within days, accelerating manufacturing for aerospace, defence, and critical industries

Technical Exposure: MasonOS, agentic AI, MCP tooling, live factory operations

Rapid Learning: Partner with industry experts across Tech/Manufacturing/ Engineering, and absorb it all.

Equity: Meaningful participation in a high-growth industrial platform

You will make MasonOS succeed in the hands of every user - and make that success require less and less human effort over time.

A great Forward Deployed Engineer, makes users self-sufficient, automates the repetitive, and turns what they learn in the field into a better product.

If not now, when.
