The company writes operating, assembly, maintenance and repair manuals, spare parts catalogues and risk assessments for manufacturers of machinery, vehicles, aircraft and defence equipment. Its engineers and technicians research systems on site at the customer and prepare the content together with an in-house graphics department and translators.

Defence is a core business line. DAWG produces electronic and interactive electronic technical documentation (ETD and IETD) to the ASD S1000D specification, spare parts and material data to S2000M, logistic support analysis (LSA) and technical logistic support (TLB) for Bundeswehr programmes, and handles NATO codification and NSN requests and SASPF catalogue exports for contractors delivering to BAAINBw. It also runs S2000M training courses.

DAWG holds DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certification and an EcoVadis bronze sustainability rating. The team works from small offices in its WissensWerk building in Wangen im Allgäu with hybrid working and full or part-time contracts.
