The company's core technology is electronic beam steering for flat active antennas, enabling fast, adaptive satellite links for commercial, government and defence applications. Its Aurora terminal is a Ka-band satellite terminal for broadband communications, its SATCOM chipsets are developed in collaboration with Swedish semiconductor firm Sivers Semiconductors AB, and its communication payloads make Thorium one of only two companies in Europe producing fully digital satellite payloads — and the first to offer an integrated Ku/Ka-band system.

In November 2023 the European Space Agency selected Thorium as Mission Prime for the HummingSAT programme, a product line of small telecommunications satellites for geostationary orbit. The KryptonSAT project under this programme is valued at approximately €75 million, with ESA contributing up to €33 million across Phase A/B and C/D/E. Swiss satellite firm SwissTo12 handles the satellite platform. In April 2025 Thorium signed a memorandum of understanding with Creotech Instruments to build Poland's first telecommunications satellite.

The company employs around 30 aerospace engineers and specialists and is backed by research funding from the European Union, Poland's Ministry of National Defence and ESA.
