The company's platform is a deck-mounted, self-levelling landing pad that stays aligned to the horizon regardless of how the vessel is moving. A proprietary catch-lock-release mechanism grips the drone on touchdown to stop it sliding or rolling off the deck, while AI-based guidance handles the approach and landing without a pilot flying the final stage. The system works with multirotor, fixed-wing and helicopter VTOL drones up to 15 kg, requires no modification to the aircraft itself, and can be fitted to vessels as small as 10 metres.

WaiV emerged from stealth in May 2026 with a €6.4 million ($7.5 million) seed round, and expanded into the US offshore market the following month. Target customers include offshore energy operators, port authorities, coast guards, fishing fleets and defence and maritime security users who need reliable drone launch and recovery in rough seas.
