Hardware Technician (f/m/d)

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability.

As a Hardware Technician (f/m/d), you will work hands-on to assemble, set up, test and maintain complex hardware systems, ensuring reliable operation from initial build through commissioning and handover. This is a purely practical technician role focused on execution.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, modify and maintain mechanical and electrical hardware systems

• Build and support hardware assemblies

• Perform hands-on work using tools

• Support hands-on system setup, testing and commissioning

• Identify and fix practical hardware issues

• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs

• Document work clearly and in a reproducible manner

Required skills:

• Completed vocational training (Ausbildung) in Mechatronics, Electronics, Precision Mechanics or a similar technical trade

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with complex technical systems

• Strong practical skills in mechanical assembly

• Structured, reliable and safety-conscious working style

• Ability to work independently

• Very good German skills (C1/C2) and comfortable working in an English-speaking environment
