About the Role

We are looking for a backend Software Engineer to design and build scalable distributed systems across the full product lifecycle. You will develop reliable backend services, ensure secure data exchange, and support high-availability deployments, working closely with engineering and production teams from concept to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development Develop, debug, and maintain backend software for distributed defence systems across embedded and general-purpose environments.

• System Integration Collaborate on hardware–software co-design, defining robust interfaces and supporting system integration and verification.

• System Communications Design and setup of system communications, including device configuration and network integration.

• Testing & Validation Support integration testing, troubleshooting, and system validation.

• Performance & Reliability Enhance deployment processes and system performance, ensuring robustness, reliability, and traceability.

We Would Love You to Have

• Educational Background
  A technical degree or diploma in software engineering, computer science or a related field.

• Experience Backend development experience, preferably in distributed systems, with understanding of networking fundamentals and system communications.

• Technical Skills Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++, with Rust as a plus. Good understanding of network communication protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, SSL) and UNIX-based operating systems.

• Soft Skills Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with exceptional communication skills. Delivery focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

• Security Clearance Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
