Job Description

Office-based integration,networking, deployment preparation, test activity and hands-on troubleshooting.

A practical, office-based technologist focused on integrating complete systems and preparing them for reliable deployment. The role combines networking, Linux, hardware integration, test execution, deployment preparation, fault-finding and clear technical documentation. It is similar to previous integration and deployment-oriented appointments rather than a pure software-development role.

Working Pattern

This role needs to be office-based full time because the work centres on physical systems, networking equipment, sensors, test rigs and deployment preparation. Travel to test or customer locations may be required as part of project delivery.

Requirements
  • Hands-on experience integrating and troubleshooting connected hardware and software systems.

  • Strong practical networking knowledge, including IP addressing, routing, switching, VPNs and connectivity diagnosis.

  • Comfortable working with Linux systems, command-line tools, logs and configuration.

  • Ability to prepare equipment for deployment, execute structured tests and record results accurately.

  • Methodical fault-finding across power, compute, network, peripherals and software configuration.

  • Clear technical documentation and confident communication with engineers and operational users.

Desirable Skills
  • Edge compute platforms, embedded Linux, rugged hardware or GPU/ARM devices.

  • Cellular, satellite, radio or bonded communications.

  • Cameras, encoders, sensors, GNSS or autonomous platforms.

  • System test, field trials, deployment checklists and configuration control.

  • Experience in aerospace, defence, robotics, drones,telecoms, industrial systems or another safety-conscious environment.

Personal Attributes

  • Able to work across disciplines and cope with incompleteinformation without losing rigour.

  • Interested in autonomous systems, edge computing andintegrated sensing platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication with a bias towardsclear documentation and knowledge sharing.
